Information about your day at the studio (please read before booking)

On the day, whatever experience you choose, you will learn to use a professional longarm machine to quilt your patchwork masterpiece, runner or practice fabric using an edge to edge design.
A pantograph is a long continuous line pattern placed on the back table of the longarm. The machine is equipped with a laser pointer which is aligned with the line pattern. As you walk along beside the frame you will use the handlebars to move the machine and trace the lines of the pantograph with the laser light. This movement is mirrored by the needle on the other side, stitching the pattern onto your quilt.
The finished effect is an all over pattern across the quilt itself.
Please note the machine will not be computer guided nor will you be undertaking freehand or freestyle motion quilting (except on a Taster Experience where you will be able to try your hand at free motion quilting).

You will be given plenty of support and time to learn how to use the machine on the day…and remember no previous experience is necessary…and it is so much fun!
To be able to quilt your creation within the time frame of one day the patchwork and backing should be made of quilt standard cotton/batik, so not polycotton sheeting, flannel, brushed cotton etc as these take much longer to set up, advance and quilt. If you have unusual fabric please contact me in advance to dicusss. Also remember for the Longarm Experience to measure your quilt accurately before you book in so that your price is correct!
